ABOUT US

The Association of Galician Wine Regulatory Councils and the GIs for Galician Traditional Spirits and Liqueurs (Acruaga) is primarily responsible for promoting, with the support of the Galician Institute for Economic Promotion (IGAPE), training, informative and, promotional actions for the products protected under the quality seals of the six bodies that form part of it: the regulatory councils of Monterrei, Rías Baixas, Ribeira Sacra, O Ribeiro and Valdeorras for wines, and the one for Igs for Galician Traditional Spirits and Liqueurs.

Acruaga’s mission is to promote a joint plan for the internationalisation of Galician wines and spirits, based on the joint action of these six bodies to actively participate in a marketing plan abroad, which will allow us to raise awareness of local wines, spirits, and liqueurs among final consumers in the country or countries chosen for its implementation.

The aim is to strengthen and increase the presence of Galician wines, spirits, and liqueurs in international markets, with a forecast increase of 20% in their export share, through the development of a number of promotional, training, and advisory actions during the period 2019-2021.

One of IGAPE’s objectives is to encourage Galician companies to enter foreign markets and Acruaga’s mission is to promote a joint plan for the internationalisation of wines and spirits.
